Sheltered to the north by hills, the city boasts hot summers and mild-to-cool winters. Average summer temperatures are around 16C - although it will, occasionally, go as high as 40C. Winter temperatures are normally fairly mild - an average of 16C. It does, however, get fairly nippy at night once the sun's gone down.
