In Spain, churros are normally served accompanied by a cup of creamy, thick chocolate - as in chocolate con churros. This is absolutely delicious anytime of the day or night! Taken when you wake first thing in the morning, they make you feel life sure is worth living! During the rest of the day, they're a welcome treat and pick-you-up. Been out living it up all night? Try chocolate con churros just before you go home to bed - the perfect ending for a night on the town! Easy to make at home, using simple ingrediants, you need to form a soft dough. This, you'll pipe into plenty of hot oil. (Haven't got an icing bag? Make your own by twisting a piece of grease-proof paper, and cutting a hole in the bottom.) Once golden-brown, remove from oil, cut into lengths about 4 inches long, and dredge with sugar. Mmmm! I often see churros being made at a stall in the weekly open-air market. There's always a queue of ladies waiting for a bag! Want tapas to go with them? Download 300 Simple Tapas Recipes here!
