The Magic of Spain, Issue #009 Newsletter
January 22, 2006

It s Linda Plummer here from

to deliver your monthly update on Spain via the
newsletter The Magic of Spain.

Regular readers of the newsletter will remember
me mentioning an email I received from a Russian.
He wanted to know more about making money in Spain
rather than spending it!

So ... here we go.

For starters, I would mention a free ebook
which you can download at the following link:

It explains in a friendly, easy-to-read style
how to get the best out of online auctions - Ebay
in particular. Written by someone who earns his
living from it.

No specialist knowledge is needed, no Spanish, it is
free to get started, and can be done practically
anywhere in the World.

Once he s making a living at it, our Russian friend
could come and live in Spain - still earning his money
with Ebay, but in Spain instead of Russia.

Anyone receiving this newsletter will have visited
my website - Top Tour of Spain.

My site brings me in a regular income each month from:

1. commission on tour/travel related products
2. Google Adsense
3. my ebook "Spanish Tapas Recipes"

When I started the site - just over 18 months ago -
I had no knowledge of html and was very internet

I am now planning to gradually sell up the apartments
I own and let out in Spain (only very ordinary ones).
Instead of earning my income from letting, I hope to
live off my website earnings.

At present, I receive just short of 700 unique visitors
per day to my site.

All the traffic is free - coming from the major Search
Engines - and I do no advertising.

You can take a look at the Guide that teaches me how
to do it here:

So, my second suggestion to our Russian friend would
be to start a website.

This costs very little and you need no specialist
knowledge or training - just the interests you
already possess.

You can start it in your own country, then come
over once it s well-established and continue it
in Spain.

Browse through examples of what others have
based their sites on and the different ways they
monetize them here:

The third way would be to find a regular job.

Broadly speaking, this can be done in one of
two ways.

You either find the job before you come. Or
you come over to the area of your choice and
look around for work.

There will be agencies, newspapers and magazines
in your own country which deal with job
opportunities abroad - Spain included.

Check out also ads in online English-speaking
Spanish newspapers - for example, The Costa Blanca News.
And the online international employment agencies.

Finally - if money permits - you can buy your
own business. Bar, guest-house, restaurant,
beauticians, dentists ....

Legal information regarding these last two
options is available under the Living in Spain
section of my site.

Whichever path you choose, you can be successful.
Just stick at it and work hard!

Unfortunately, success often takes longer to
achieve and greater effort than we originally
imagined! This is life I m afraid!

However, perhaps that also means that the ones
who are prepared to put in that extra bit of
effort and walk that extra mile are the ones
who - deservedly - succeed?

So ... good luck to our Russian friend, and
anyone else who would like to make Spain their
home but needs an income!

Finally, I d like to say a big thank you for the
marvellous response and feedback I ve received for my
Tapas Recipe Book.

And, if there is any topic you would like covered in
this newsletter, please get in touch via the
Contact Form on the site and I will do my best.

Until next month!
