INAUGURATION OF AMERICA'S CUP - VALENCIA

Glamorous, international stars, and members of the
Spanish Royal Family flooded to Valencia this
week-end when celebrations for the America's Cup finally
began in earnest.

Last night - Sunday - members of the public packed
the streets in order to catch a glimpse of famous
faces, and enjoy a splendid fireworks display -
before serious partying began.

Fortunately, today - Monday - the fiesta day of
San Vicente is being celebrated in Valencia, so not
everyone has to get up early to go to work!

Valencia is a beautiful city and has really come
into its own over recent years.

FREE LISTINGS OF REPOSSESSED SPANISH PROPERTY

Property prices have certainly soared in Spain over recent
years.

However, you can still bag a property bargain by
buying real estate that's been repossessed - because
of debt - and is due to go to the highest bidder at
Public Auction in Spain.

Normally you'd have to pay for this closely-guarded
information! But, here at Top Tour of Spain, we provide
you with free lists of repossessed property/forced sales.

No charge! Just follow this link ...

LEARN SPANISH WEATHER WORDS AND PHRASES

Many holiday-makers visiting Spain over Easter were
deeply disappointed with the wet, dull weather they
encountered.

So, in our Learning Spanish Section, we concentrate
on a few words and phrases dealing with the weather!

For starters, here's a Spanish "refrán" or "saying"
that goes:

"En abril, aguas mil."

Which - roughly translated - means:

"In April, a thousand waters."

Meaning that you can expect wet weather in Spain in
April!

Here are a few more weather-related words and
phrases:

llueve - it's raining
nieve - it's snowing
hace frío - it's cold
hace calor - it's hot
hace sol - it's sunny
hace viento - it's windy
hay niebla - it's cloudy

TASTY TAPAS RECIPE

To finish off with, here's an unusual tapas recipe for you!

It combines sweet "turrón" - the candy/sweet that's very
popular at Christmas-time in Spain - with savoury.

If you haven't turrón, replace it with fudge.

TURRÓN SALAD - ENSALADA DE TURRÓN

Ingrediants:

80 gr soft (Jijona) turrón
80 gr anchovies canned in oil - drained
50 gr ground almonds
2 oranges - all peel and pith cut away
1 pomegranate

Dressing:

1 tablespoon sherry vinegar
2 tablespoons oil from the canned anchovies
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 teaspoon freshly chopped mint

Method:

1. Place turrón in freezer for an hour - until hardened.
2. Cut oranges into segments, removing all skin.
3. Arrange orange segments on serving dish.
4. Sprinkle over the ground almonds.
5. Top with anchovies.
6. Scoop out pomegranate seeds and scatter over.
7. Mix together ingrediants for dressing.
8. Drizzle dressing over salad.
9. Thickly grate turrón, scatter over salad, and serve.
