Barcelona is a must-visit when you re in Spain and is one of the few city break destinations in Europe that located next to a sandy beach. From Barcelona s luxury hotels to great shopping, this city has a lot to offer. Here are a few things that shouldn t be missed:

Admire Gaudi
Gaudi s worked is scattered over the city and offers a modernistic and colourful interpretation of the city s surroundings. Recognised as a symbol of Barcelona worldwide, Sagrada Familia is Gaudi s most famous piece of work .Audio guided tours are available between 9am and 8pm daily with a few days of limited hours opening in October.

Climb Montjuic
The Montjuic is a hill located near the centre of Barcelona. It features a large number of attractions including the Spanish Village and the Montjuic Castle. The top of Montjuic offers the best views of the city. It is hard to reach so tends not to be too crowded however the panoramic views of the city are worth the hike.

Treat your sweet-tooth
Barcelona is a winner when it comes to sugary treats. Papabubble is a great place to see sweets and candies being made and the patisserie Budo allows you to try-before-you-buy of many types of cakes and pastries. A must see is the chocolate museum a haven for chocoholics.

Shop til you drop
Barcelona isn t quite in the same league as fashion leaders Milan and Paris but it is certainly one of Europe s most stylish cities and is a magnet for fashion-conscious tourists. The Place de Catalunya and Avinguda Diagonal are the best streets for designer outfits or for markets go to Passeig de Gracia, the Rambla de Catalunya and around Tur Park for everything from books to jewels, furniture and cava.

Dance your socks off
Whether you take part or just watch, experiencing Flamenco dancing whilst in Barcelona is an unforgettable experience. The dance is extremely passionate and verges on aggressiveness inherited from its roots of the Andulusian gypsies. El Tablao de Carmen is a fantastic place to watch fiery shows or take a master-class with a Spanish stud.
