Heart hands against a sunset

The Best Romantic Spanish Poems To Woo Your Lover

It’s always a pleasure to receive romantic poems in Spanish – or in any language for that matter! So, enjoy reading and sending these sweet romantic Spanish love poems. All are written by men, although the first two would also be suitable for sending by females to their men. The third and longer love poem – by Pablo Neruda – goes into some detail about a woman’s body, so would not really be suitable for sending to a man.

Enjoy!

“Sonnet XXIII” in Spanish & English

In this romantic Spanish poem, Gustavo Adolfo Becquer wonders what he would give for just one kiss …

Sonnet XXIII in Spanish:

Por una mirada, un mundo,
Por una sonrisa, un cielo,
Por un beso… ¡yo no sé
Que te diera por un beso!

Translation:

For a look, a world
For a smile, a sky and heaven,
For a kiss…I do not know
What you give for a kiss!

“No Dejo de Pensarte” in Spanish & English

Another short poem of love in which the poet proclaims he can’t stop thinking about his beloved – her hair, her eyes, her look – and cannot stop loving her.

“No Dejo de Pensarte” (“I Never Stop Thinking About You”) in Spanish

Tu cabello, tus ojos, tu mirada:
No dejo de pensarte,
Entera eres mi pensamiento,
Desde tu ternura hasta dulzura.
Entera eres mi sueño:
No dejo de extrañarte,
Y no puedo dejar de amarte.

English Translation:

Your hair, your eyes, your gaze:
I can’t stop thinking about you,
Whole you are my thought
From your tenderness to sweetness.
Whole you are my dream:
I keep on missing you
And I can’t stop loving you.

Cuerpo de Mujer in Spanish & English

In his love poem entitled “Body of a Woman” well-known poet Pablo Neruda explains falling in love …

English Translation:

Woman’s body, white hills, white thighs,
You look like the world in thy episodic attitude
My savage peasant body digs into you
And make the son from the depth of the earth leap.

I was solo as a tunnel. Those birds fled from me
and the night’s potent invasions entered me.
To survive,  I forged you as a weapon,
as an arrow in my bow, as a stone in my sling.

But the hour of revenge falls, and I love you
Body of skin, of moss, of milk greedy and firm.
Ah the breast’s veins! Ah the absent eyes!
Ah the pubic roses! Ah you voice slow and sad!

My very own woman’s body, I’ll persist in thy grace.
My thirst, my limitless longing, my wavering way!
Dark riverbeds where the eternal thirst flows
and fatique follows, and the eternal sorrow.
