One tasty tapas dish you'll find in most Spanish cafés is alioli - or garlic - potatoes.
As with many traditional Spanish recipes, they're deliciously easy-to-make, and you'll only need the most basic, affordable ingredients.
So, why not put on your pinny and get a taste of Spain by making these at home?
They go down a treat with a glass of chilled, white wine.

alioli potatoes (patatas alioli)
Ingredients - for 4 people
- 250 gr waxy potatoes - in chunks and boiled until just tender
- 1 egg
- 100 ml extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic - peeled and crushed with salt
- 1 tablespoon freshly-chopped parsley
- Freshly-ground black pepper
- Optional: 1 dessertspoon chopped chives
Method
- Drain the boiled potatoes and set aside to cool.
- Place the egg, oil, garlic, parsley and pepper into a blender.
- Whiz until smooth.
- Stir the cold, boiled potato chunks into the mixture.
- Cover, and chill in fridge.
- Sprinkle with snipped chives (optional) and serve.
