alioli (garlic) potatoes



A tasty tapas dish that you'll find in many a Spanish café is alioli - or garlic - potatoes.

They're so easy to make - and you only need simple, affordable ingrediants.

So, put your pinny on and get a taste of Spain by making these at home!

They go down a treat with a glass of chilled, white wine!

alioli potatoes (patatas alioli)

Ingrediants - for 4 people

  • 250 gr potatoes - in chunks and boiled until just tender
  • 1 egg
  • 100 ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic - peeled and crushed with salt
  • 1 tablespoon freshly-chopped parsley
  • Freshly-ground black pepper
  • 1 dessertspoon chopped chives
  • Method

    1. Drain the boiled potatoes and set aside to cool.
    2. Place the egg, oil, garlic, parsley and pepper into a blender.
    3. Whiz until smooth.
    4. Stir the cold, boiled potato chunks into the mixture.
    5. Cover, and chill in the fridge.
    6. Sprinkle with snipped chives and serve.
