Coach travel is more affordable than train, very comfortable, but does take longer. Again, Barcelona has a number of bus/coach stations, the main one being Estació de Nord in the Carrer d'Alí Bei, near the Arc de Triomf metro station. It's cheap, covers most of the city, and offers stations close to all main attractions. A single metro ticket costs 1.25 euros ... ticket machines can be put into English. To save money, buy a T-10 Card. Available from metro stations, this card costs just under 7 euros and can be used for 10 journeys on the metro, bus or FGC (Barcelona's urban railway line). Also, more than one person can use the same ticket. The only drawback to the metro, is that you can't use it late at night.
Although Barcelona offers an extremely comprehensive bus network, it's quicker and easier to use the metro or FGC - except at night, when the metro closes down. Then, Barcelona's yellow NITBUS or "night bus" comes into its own. Running every 30-45 minutes - from 11 pm to around 4 pm - you'll find all of them stop at the very central Plaza Cataluyna.
