financial services in spain -
your questions answered ...

Expats! Do give careful thought to the financial services in spain you plan to use when relocating here!

But ... why?

The basic answer to this is that until recently the regulation of financial services in Spain has not been as comprehensive as it is in the UK.

And, some expats have experienced poor advice from unregulated companies.

Long-time resident expats on the Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol will probably have learnt a little caution, plus how to tell the wheat from the chaff as far as financial services in spain are concerned.

But ... what about newcomers to this lovely land?

You'll wish to enjoy your retirement ... your work ... your second home here.

But you'll only achieve that once you've peace of mind over financial practicalities.

You'll need the answers to lots of very basic questions ... such as:

  • Spanish residency, bank accounts, income and inheritance tax
  • how to handle your UK pensions and savings
  • how and where to obtain a mortgage
  • the importance of making Spanish and UK wills
  • At some point, you may even wish to learn:

  • ways in which to minimise tax on savings and investments
  • a little about life assurance and pension options
  • low-risk investment planning for building a reliable, sustainable income

  • Financial Advisers Spain And so, we've asked Robin Beven to provide you with a series of easy-to-understand, informative articles
covering some of the above topics ...
and we're extremely pleased to say he's agreed!

Over the coming months, he'll be
supplying information that will help smooth the path of newcomers to Spain ...
and also aid present expats to steer clear of financial pitfalls and worries.

So, if there's a financial topic you'd particularly like covered, or a
question you'd like answered ... just fill in the short form further down this page and let him know about it!

I've known Robin and his wife, Julie, around 10 years - Robin safely steering me (plus numerous other expats!) through any turbulent financial waters.

Robin's a well-educated, professionally-qualified financial adviser, and his company - The Spectrum IFA Group - now has around 40 regulated advisers throughout the EU.

All-in-all though, he can boast a good 22 years' industry experience, with the last 10 years advising expats on the Costa Blanca - indeed, throughout Spain.

And he and Julie have experienced first-hand the realities of everyday life in Spain.

They've raised two lovely, bilingual children here - their daughter, now nearly 20, and with a career recently started in Madrid ... plus their 14 year-old son who's still at home.

Robin's clients are also secure in the knowledge that, with The Spectrum IFA Group, independent financial advisers are regulated by the DGS, which is Spain's regulatory body that monitors their advice and activities.

Importantly, The Spectrum IFA Group is properly regulated in Spain, as well as other European countries.

So ... if you've any questions or topics you'd like covered, feel free to fill in the form below.

Also, check out links towards the end of this page for Robin's answers to questions already posed, plus other financial articles ...
